Meet Marc Flores
Marc Flores is part of the leadership team behind both SeaCoast Health Systems Inc. and Artem Vale and believes fiercely in accessible mental wellness and shares what mental wellness looks like and means to him.
Marc Flores is part of the leadership team behind both SeaCoast Health Systems Inc. and Artem Vale. “While my background is rooted in healthcare operations, my work has evolved into something broader, helping build environments where people across all stages of life can feel supported, connected, and heard,” says Flores. Through Artem Vale, his work extends beyond the traditional care settings into schools and communities, as well as underserved populations. Flores believes that mental wellness access should be accessible, relatable, and part of everyday life.
When asked about what made Flores passionate about senior living and mental wellness, he said, “It started with seeing how much impact connection and environment have on people. But over time, it became clear that mental wellness challenges don’t belong to one age group - they affect everyone.” Flores believes Artem Vale reflects that understanding, “It’s about addressing mental wellness across generations, removing barriers, and creating spaces where people can grow, heal, and feel supported regardless of where they are in life.”
Mental wellness became important to Flores in his career. The demands of leadership made it clear that his personal mental wellness couldn’t be an afterthought. “That experience reshaped how I approach both life and leadership,” says Flores. He emphasized that it also made him realize that many others may not have the tools or support systems to navigate the peaks and valleys of life. “That realization is part of what drives the work at Artem Vale - making those tools more accessible and normalizing the conversation.”
At SeaCoast Health the foundation is provided, but Artem Vale expands the mission beyond general care. “Mental wellness is no longer viewed as a separate initiative; it’s integrated into how we think about community impact.” says Flores. “Through Artem Vale, we’re extending that work into broader populations, including youth, families, and underserved groups, creating programs that support emotional well-being both inside and outside traditional care environments.” Initiatives that clearly benefit the residents at SeaCoast Health communities and the broader community that surrounds them.
When questioned about his own journey with mental wellness, Flores shared, “I’ve learned that mental wellness is not something you “arrive at” - it’s something you practice.” He emphasized that it requires consistency, self-awareness, and a willingness to be honest. That mindset has influenced how he leads and how he approached building programs for residents and the community that are sustainable and meaningful.
Flores himself shared three tools in his unique mental wellness toolkit. A toolkit is a set of practices or items one can use to care for their mental wellness. Flores shared that he uses:
Intentional reflection: Creating space to pause and recalibrate helps maintain clarity and perspective.
Connection with others: Whether through mentorship, conversation, or shared experiences, connection is one of the most powerful tools for mental wellness.
Purpose-driven work: Being connected to something meaningful creates resilience and helps navigate stress more effectively.
Flores named the foundation and came up with the tagline “mindful, meaningful, together”, he says, “Artem Vale represents a place of growth, restoration, and purpose.” The tagline reflects how Flores approachesmental wellness - being present, creating impact that matters, and doing it in community. “It’s rooted in the belief that healing and growth happen faster and more deeply when people are connected,” He also statesthat, “Tt’s changed how I think about impact. It’s no longer just about operations or outcomes, it’s about people, connection, and creating moments that matter.” He explained that Artem Vale has brought more intentionality into how he approaches his leadership role and relationships, in both the professional sense and personally.
Moving into programming, Flores says that “the multi-generational approach stands out the most.” He enjoys programs that bring different generations together and believes they show that when people connect, both sides benefit, “there’s mentorship, energy, perspective, and shared understanding.” Multi-generational programming reinforces the idea that mental wellness is stronger when it’s experienced together, not in isolation.
Artem Vale is about changing how people experience mental wellness. Flores notes that, “whether it’s through breaking stigma with real conversations, creating opportunities for youth, or delivering meaningful experiences to underserved communities, the goal is to make mental wellness something that feels approachable and integrated into everyday life.”
He believes mental wellness is not just about responding to challenges; it’s about creating environments where people feel supported before challenges arise. Emphasizing that, “it’s proactive and community driven.” Mental wellness is something that should be accessible to everyone before a crisis hits.
“At its core, this work is about helping people feel seen, supported, and connected - and building communities where that becomes the standard, not the exception,” says Flores.
